We use a simple two-step system to create fair community averages while filtering out obvious outliers:
- Find the consensus: We look at which tiers most people agree on for each player. If at least 20% of raters put someone in the same tier, that becomes part of the consensus.
- Filter outliers: We remove ratings that are more than 1 tier away from the consensus. So if most people put someone in B tier, we ignore the S+ and D ratings.
- Calculate average: We then average the remaining ratings, giving more weight to people who are generally more reliable raters.
- Quality control: Only tier lists with 25+ players count towards averages. Players need at least 5 ratings to appear here.
What the stats mean:
- Score: Lower is better. S+ players get around 1.0, A players around 3.0, C players around 5.0.
- R: How many people rated this player. More ratings means more reliable.
- Split: How much people disagree about this player. Lower numbers mean everyone agrees.
- Final: The final consensus-filtered score.
⚡ Controversial players: These players still have lots of disagreement even after filtering. The community is genuinely split on where they belong.
